Run 825 – Porte de Versailles – Hare French Kiss – Hash Trash from The Anarchist
January 20, 2013 by Paris Hash House Harriers
A few brave harriers and harriettes did show up at Porte de Versailles last Saturday, probably seduced by the new hot carrot soup recipe from French Kiss.
Our Hare not only laid the trail by minus 6C but had to improvise with locked park gates and finally found his way to the starting point Porte de Versailles . He confessed he was not alone in his Deluxe Clio as two young and pretty Koweitian veiled girls lost in the suburbs were rescued by him to head their way to Paris Fashion show Porte de Versailles . It was unclear if there was any compensation for the deal.
Due to the small number of hashers and despite no RA to tell us if it was suitable we decided to combine the runner and walker’s trail into a speed walking trail . Instructions were given to , as usual, follow the white flour signs but as you noticed or probably not as most of you stayed fornicating under the” couette” or watched television eating munchies , shame on you !So the big challenge was for us to find flour signs covered by snow and to give you an opportunity to experience it , could you tell me where the flour is in the attached picture ???
The Hare did not follow any advice from Slack Mac giving useful hints of how hashing with snow : using Nesquik, tomato sauce, coloured chalk, coloured shredded paper …..So we followed the Hare who trailed us around very nice parks toward Issy les Moulineaux. Two miles from there we spotted an uncovered white flour sign and it did cheer us up as apparently we were in the right direction towards the beer stop.
Then we admired the trimaran like building from Microsoft and the nearrby elegant Christian de Potzemparc Bouygues Construction building
We then walked along the river Seine crossing a construction site, threading our way between a high railings and the river on a snowy enbankment . Nobody took the big dive and we deserved a good beer at the beers stop nearby .
Quite far away from the start you may say , so we took the Tram back to Porte de la Plaine next to Parc Georges Brassens . We could not see any ” amoureux qui se becottent sur les bancs publics…….. banc publics ” . Freezing cold for a romance !!
So we savoured the hot carrot soup enriched with cheese and cream and delicately spiced with coriander from French Kiss . Un délice ……
I hope this post will encourage you to face winter cold conditions for the next runs.
