A rare event occurred in Paris last Saturday, 23 June 2012 — the customary grey overhead view was partially obscured in many places by a thin blue film, illuminated by a rarely-seen shining yellow orb, setting the stage for an encounter of the hash kind in the Bois de Boulogne. Hare Speedy Gonzales arranged a private meeting of the runners with a delicate sylvan resident holding court amidst the greenery. The chance encounter allowed visitors Drama Queen, Sir Beat-a-Dick, Ditch Bitch, and others, whose stories are lost in the annals of history along with the detailed notes taken by On-Sec Pussy … kat during the circle, to fully experience the wonderment felt by the ordinary denizen of the Parisian woods. Aie que Linda! all exclaimed, as they returned to the circle to proclaim their good news.
This however was no walk in the woods for our adventurous crew. Visiting Sir-Beat-a-Dick from the Charlottesville Hash suffered grievous damage to his legs leaping through the thorny undergrowth in his eagerness to reach the precious prize. The gentle reader may be forgiven for thinking that Sir BaD should perhaps have shown better judgment in his choice of foot gear, and GM The Anarchist was fully in agreement. Sandals are clearly inappropriate for the hash, as where does the beer go during the down-down punishment for the wrong choice of foot wear?
No such encounters of the hinky kind were had by the walkers, led by the courageous Muito Bon-bon as they traversed the Bois. Indeed, Returnee White Socks was most plaintive about the lack of Brazilians along the pathways, and Sleeping Sex did not volunteer to show him any. Their absence could perhaps be attributed to his own choice of footwear. White Socks can’t compete with the sporty Hash socks displayed by Ditch Bitch on the run or the naked shins of Sir BaD gleaming through the shrubs. All’s well that ends well, and although GM The Anarchist tried to share our beer with the hooligans occupying the beer stop, enough ale was recovered to keep the Harriers and Harriettes sufficiently hydrated to complete the run.
