1st time hasher

Is this your very 1st time running Paris Hash? Check this out..

The Paris Hash House Harriers run every Saturday fortnight come rain, shine or snow in the forests and hills around Paris.

What Should I Bring?

  • 5euros/run (hash cash)
  • Bring clothes and running shoes suitable for running or walking across a variety of terrain.

How Does It Work?
You can find the hash runs schedule on the “Meetup “ pages.https://www.meetup.com/fr-FR/parish3-schhh/

Contact :

Details of each run (transport, meeting point..) will be posted on the main page at least 5days before it occurs.  Runs will start at 2pm. Runs average 2 hours in length. (5~10kms depends on hares.)

The hares will lay the trail with blobs of white flour or chalk. A blob of flour will be laid every 20-30m or so- sometimes more often if the terrain is confusing, sometimes less often if there is only one clear path to follow.

During the course of the run you will, at some point, come to a ‘CHECK’. This is a large white circle with a cross inside it. This means that the next flour mark could be anywhere within a 100m radius. Hashers must search high and low to find the next flour mark. Sometimes this can be relatively simple. Sometimes it can be quite the opposite and lead to the whole pack bunched up together and confused! When looking for the flour mark you may hear the shout, “ARE YOU?”. If you are looking for flour you can reply, “CHECKING.”
If you find the flour or are on trail when you hear, “ARE YOU?’ you will need to shout at the top of your lungs, “ON ON.”

What are Circles and Down-Downs?
After the run has finished, the Circle + Down-Downs begin. Everyone will gather around and various people will be called up to drink Beer. You may be called up to drink for being a first-time runner, a visiting runner, or for no reason at all. Down-Downs can be raucous affairs, be warned! After the Circle Paris MisManagement provides some snacks, various +wine +cheese +sausage +bread…, ENJOY!

    1. There may be a Paris Hash on January 16th at 2 PM, but their hashes have been spotty lately. You can check the Sans Clue HHH website (http://schhh.free.fr) for updated information a few days before. Also, most Thursdays there is a hash get together (no running) at a local bar beginning at 7:00 PM. There should be updated info about that on the Sans Clue site.

  23. I live near Fontainbleau on the weekends, does the Paris Hash still do a run alternate Saturdays. My father (MFI) was/is a hasher from the 1970s (initially Surrey HHH) to this very day so I have fond memories of the whole thing, though have not (yet) joined- I don’t have a hashname.
